Dear Friends,
We had one light air race today, the last day of qualifying. We finished 11th in the race today, and are still in 12th overall. The points are starting to get spread out, but things can move dramatically once racing starts in gold fleet. We now have 39 points, and are 22 points out of 2nd place. After racing today we went north to visit Hamlet’s castle, Elsinore or Helsingor in Danish!

The forecast was for wind, and it was windy when we woke up this morning, so we were braced for big breeze. Which never came. We were set up hedged for wind, and so were slightly underpowered during the race. Our start wasn’t the greatest, and we were working hard to pass boats in the middle of the fleet. We ended up the race in 11th, using a sweet rodeo gybe (a sequence of two gybes were you don’t gybe the pole, only gybe the spinnaker) to pass a boat at the last gybe mark to the finish.
We are looking forward to gold fleet — having all of the contenders on the same racecourse will be nice!
Stay tuned for more news from more racing!
Best,
