Dear Friends,
Well, today was not our best day. We sailed two races in tricky, shifty conditions. We finished 18th and 22nd out of 29 boats in the gold fleet, and dropped to 17th overall (tied for 16th). While we made good decisions for the majority of the races, two large mistakes (gybing off a header and away from the pack of boats in the first race, and a poor start in the second race) proved extremely costly.
We have five races left in the regatta: four races in the finals, and then the medal race. We are currently 12 points out of 10th place, and need to have some solid results in order to move up on the scoreboard. We are confident in our abilities as a team, and are looking forward to the remaining races!
